Social Dentistry utilises the dental practice and the dental treatment pathway as a mechanism to engage its patients and help develop their social capital and human capital in order to better the lives of patients of the practice. This includes helping patients develop their knowledge, social and human capital. The engagement also helps patients live healthier lives through knowledge sharing and community-based workshops in the form of master classes, internships, and mentorships from the professional and corporate world without any barriers. By creating opportunities, raising aspirations, and developing new skills Social Dentistry helps to equip young people with the skills, confidence, and networks to break through social barriers like the glass ceiling one fragment at a time.
